psimwork. β€’ 1 yr. ago. There's so many incorrect terms here. Basically every panel on the market is LCD. LED is the backlight type that gets put behind the LCD panel. IPS is a type of LCD panel. The chances of having an LCD panel at this point (especially a more expensive IPS type) that does not have an LED backlight is extremely unlikely.
IPS is a panel technology used in LCDs (liquid-crystal displays), including many computer monitors and phones. It stands for β€œin-plane switching.”. Today, IPS technology is more commonly found in higher-end screens, although some inexpensive monitors with IPS panels also exist.

It uses nanoparticles to filter excess or unnecessary light wavelengths to produce a cleaner and more accurate white backlighting. This is needed because the "white" LEDs used in the traditional IPS and other LCDs have some imbalances in the spectrum of light they produce. IPS pixels are uniformly lit by a backlight, whereas OLED pixels are independently lit. For OLED panels, this means that a pixel can be fully lit, and the pixel next to it can be turned off
IPS is a kind of LED monitor. It will provide wider viewing angles and more accurate colors than other kinds of LED panel technology. Whether it is better for you or not depends on your use case. IPS is not as good at handling fast motion as other display technologies, so it will be good for office work, movie watching, and games that do not
